Joshua grew up as the youngest of ten children on a very rural farm in the mountains of Utah. He now lives on a small farm in Earlysville, Virginia with his wife and four children. His passion for woodworking began when he was a small child as he watched his brother-in-law’s woodworking business grown and thrive. He started real woodworking in high school, and became very interested in hand tools and traditional woodworking after college. Joshua loves most types of furniture, but gravitates toward Shaker furniture. He builds furniture, films woodworking videos & DVDs, and teaches classes in his brick workshop (a former RV garage), which he remodeled in 2016. You can take woodworking classes from Joshua or a variety of other accomplished woodworkers at the school (here).
You were recommended to me. I am cutting some BIG red oak and beech tress down to make room for an addition to our farm house in Scottsville. Diameters are 18 & 30 in beech and 24 inch red oak off a stump cut of @ 50 inch. Text or call me ASAP and I can send pics to see if your interested in purchase. 434.960.5549
Brian, I’ve got enough lumber to last a long time, but thanks for considering me.
Make more back scratchers. I wanted to buy more on Amazon but they are not available.
Wrong Joshua Farnsworth. But maybe I could make them. Are they popular?

As of right now, yes, it is still on. Just sign up, and if it has to be cancelled, we will issue a full refund Jim. Cheers!
I bought the Moravian workbench download plans & haven’t received anything.
Can you give me an update ?
Hello Thomas, looks like this got resolved via the contact form.

Thank you for your reply. I’ll check back often. Looking forward to being able to take a class at your school.
Hi Josh, I am fabricating the parts of the Moravian bench right now as per your plans. I couldn’t find any dimension for the height of the long stretcher on the legs. I understand the thinking about allowing some flexibility here. You give the dimensions of the mortise, but it would help to have a dimension of how high off the floor the long stretcher might be. It would save some time and help ensure I avoid knots in that… Read more »
Sorry Jim, the bottom of the mortise is 9 inches from the floor.
Dear Mr. Farnsworth – I watched your video explaining/demonstrating what fumed oak was: the night tables you built are beautiful. Where do you sell your finished products?
Sincerely, Carol Lonergan
Thanks Carol! I don’t actually actively sell my furniture at this time. I may do commission work from time to time.
